THE CHEFS
ALEX PINEDAEXECUTIVE CHEF
Don’t hand a seven-year-old a kitchen knife — unless you’re Lydia Shire, matriarch of Boston’s dining scene. Her son Alex Pineda took his first steps in the kitchen of Shire’s legendary BIBA, where he was making pizzas at seven. He’s since trained at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal in London and Tram Tram Barcelona Spain, also while spending some time in China learning cooking techniques and absorbing the different cultures of speaking food. When working for Wolfgang Puck in LA and at Waterhouse in the New Hampshire mountains he started to put his own spin on things. Pineda spent the past few years at Scampo helping to manage his mother’s legacy. Pineda is both proud of his experiences and looking to carve his own path in his hometown of Marblehead and cannot wait to start his new journey at The Landing.

NOE ORTEGACO - EXECUTIVE CHEF
Noe’s love for food began at a young age when his parents moved from California to a small town in Mexico called Obregon. It was there he saw, tasted, smelled the way food brought his family and friends together. He was lucky to stage with local Mexican chefs with generations of cultural staples that he still uses today when developing menus. When moving to Boston Noe began working at Scampo underneath legendary Lydia Shire with Chef Alex and their culinary dream team began. Looking to expand his managerial skills Noe began a 5 year position at the Envoy hotel under Chef Tatiana Rosana and was fully submerged into the corporate world to fine tune his understanding every aspect of kitchen and restaurant operations. On his days off he continued to join Chef Alex on private dinners, The Nantucket And Martha’s Vineyard Food And Wine Festivals, and they knew a day would come when they would work together again on a restaurant project they both believed in -and here it is! Noe is thrilled to join Chef Alex as executive chef of The Landing and can’t wait to show Marblehead his talents.
